Hello, My New World!
Hello! My name is Lily. I am very happy to start learning English today. English is a wonderful language spoken by many people around the world. It helps me talk to friends from different countries and learn new things every day.
Right now, my English is still very simple. I can only say basic words like "hello," "thank you," and "goodbye." But that’s okay because everyone starts somewhere. Every time I practice speaking or writing in English, I feel proud of myself. For example, yesterday, I tried to introduce myself to my teacher in English. She smiled and said, “Great job!” That made me feel so encouraged!
Learning English is fun for me. I love watching cartoons with English subtitles. Characters like Mickey Mouse and Winnie the Pooh always make me laugh. And when I watch them, I try to repeat what they say. It feels like playing a game while improving my skills.
I also enjoy reading short stories in English. At first, there were lots of words I didn’t understand, but now I use a dictionary to look up their meanings. Each word I learn opens a door to more exciting ideas. For instance, I recently learned the word "adventure." Now, whenever I hear it, I imagine going on amazing journeys like climbing mountains or exploring forests.
One important thing I’ve realized is that making mistakes is part of learning. Sometimes, I mix up words or forget grammar rules, but I don’t get upset. Instead, I think about how much better I’ll be tomorrow than I am today. My mom says, “Practice makes perfect,” and she’s right!
In the future, I hope to speak fluent English and share my thoughts with others easily. Maybe someday, I’ll even travel to an English-speaking country and have conversations with locals. Until then, I will keep practicing every single day.
